CALMM is a group of professionals working in, and for, commercial aviation within the New York area. The council was first established in 1974 as an aircraft maintenance support group of and for domestic and international carriers operating in JFK. Although principally based in JFK the group has expanded to include members from EWR and LGA.
As a matter of operating necessity, the carriers realized that in pooling their individual resources, there was a greater support.
Since that time the organization has grown, and includes many more domestic and international carriers as well as vendors, providing the same networking opportunities and support with a much greater reach for all participants.
The council meets the second Tuesday of every month at the Port Authority Administration Building at JFK. The meetings are professionally structured, with by-laws and a mission statement. The Executive structure is a committee design, with the Executive Board serving an annual term. Following the councils business, a presentation is provided by a multitude of interested parities wishing to support our members.
Presenters range from every aspect: commercial aviation manufacturing and repair, support services, GSE, materials, FAA and Port Authority representatives, managerial and administrative, staffing, courier services, and printing needs to name just a few.
In addition to the monthly meeting, there are annual events which serve to further strengthen relationships and networking opportunities.
