Hello to all CALMM Aircraft Maintenance Managers and Vender Members.

I want to highlight my appreciation for your interest in our Souvenir Journal, but also to stress its importance.

Please understand that the Journal is our most significant generator. You may not realize, but there are financial obligations that must be tended to for this non-for profit organization to stay in motion. Several points on finances:

  1. First = our Treasurer, Tom Fitzgerald, does an outstanding job of keeping our books in order.

  2. Financial records are always available to those concerned

  3. Annually we allocate $900 for scholarship funding:

  4. The Aviation High School graduating class Tool Box contribution.

  5. CALMM Annual Aviation Maintenance Student scholarship for tuition/text book

       assistance.

  1. Depending on available presenters, CALMM must cover the costs of the “free” lunch offered at

our general meetings several times a year.

  1. Our costs of the “free” annual Christmas Holiday event. Important to both camaraderie between

our members and the supporting professional networking opportunities.

  1. Our raffle gift support to the CALMM sponsored annual golf outing. Note that all proceeds if the

outing go directly to the Make A  Wish foundation. (Another event that supports camaraderie

between our members and professional networking opportunities.)

  1. Then there are the basic operating costs: annual professional accounting services, recognition

plaques, flowers for our ill and deceased members, and basic administrative costs.

You get the idea.

Also importantly, it offers an added advertising and networking tool to all members who support our organization; and includes a Maintenance Directory. So please look through the following pages and save your copy as a desktop reference in meeting your operational needs. Than you all who have contributed.

In other news, this year we have instituted a Vender sub-committee. Our supporting venders are integral as their products and services are directly related to our organization, and they are a significant component to our financial health. The intent is to better align our mutual interests. Thank you to Larry Bertoli of Hermans Has Everything for leading this charge and accepting the initial Vender Sub-Committee Chairman position. I also want to thank Bert Stimson of Aviall who has supported us with presenters for our meetings.

This is now the fifth consecutive term as Executive Chairman of the council. I have received several comments from long standing maintenance managers who say the organization has positively evolved in its professional format. Know that this is the combined efforts of the Executive Committee team who remain committed to sustaining the benefit, integrity and viability of the organization.

As always, thank you for your past and continued support, professionalism and friendship.

With my warmest regards,

Kevin Malone
